Answers

What if I have to take the ACT on Saturday?

Every couple of years the beginning of the session coincides with the ACT testing day. As some of our participants are from areas of the state several hours away from Warrensburg, we suggest you inquire about changing your test location to a city closer to Warrensburg.  Contact Missouri Boys State Headquarters for more information.

How many students attend Missouri Boys State?

There are nearly 1,000 students from every corner of Missouri in attendance at Missouri Boys State. The number of students from a high school is based on that high school's enrollment.

Only students who have two semesters of high school left, have completed the 11th grade and have not previously attended a Boys State program are eligible to attend Missouri Boys State.

What scholarship opportunities are available to me?

Each year Missouri Boys State awards a cash scholarship to the "Citizen of the Week". All citizens who successfully complete the week of Boys State are eligible for the Harley Wyatt Scholarship program. Over 20 colleges and universities participate in the program and provide over $2,000,000 in scholarship money to Missouri Boys State citizens. Look for the Harley Wyatt Scholarship brochure in your registration packet for details on how to apply with the participating colleges and universities. You can also find more information on college credit and scholarships by clicking here.

Who are the staff members?

The administrative staff, counseling staff, and athletic supervisors who are in charge of the individual phases of the program are trained leaders and experienced youth counselors who donate a week of their time as public service.

Each member of the staff is giving back to the program's participants the same excitement, inspiration and value, the Boys State program gave them when they were citizens. Our volunteers work hard each year to provide the citizens of Missouri Boys State the best experience possible.
