    Day to Day Activities - Monday, June 19th

Municipal Activities

Monday morning at Missouri Boys State marks the beginning of operations for the newly formed city governments. After attending Schools of Instruction, city administrators begin constructing their city's foundation. Many citizens will be starting their campaigns for county government positions, while others established businesses and created legislation for the state.

In the afternoon, the political parties will be develop their party platform and hosting a caucus to select their candidates for county Government. Afterwards, County political party rallies are held. Candidates for county government address their constituents, vying for votes in the Tuesday morning county election.


Evening Assembly and Political Rallies

Tonight, the program welcomed former CIA Director, John Brennan, as the George W. Lehr Memorial Chair speaker for the 78th Session of Missouri Boys State. After speaking about his experiences working in the CIA, Director Brennan fielded questions from the audience, who brought an array of questions ranging from counter-terrorism efforts to the political issues facing the CIA today. Throughout, he expounded on mistakes by omission, challenging the citizens to avoid standing aside as events unfold.

Afterwards, the citizens engage in political rallies to prepare for elections Tuesday morning.
