Jerod Breit |
Officer Jerod Breit has been selected by his peers as the Ninth District "Officer of the Year" for 2009. Officer
Breit is well respected throughout both the police department, and the community for his tremendous work
ethic and professionalism throughout his career. He is described by his superiors as an officer with a constant
professional demeanor, hard working, and an excellent problem solver and report writer.
During 2009, Officer Breit distinguished himself by making numerous arrests for narcotics, weapons, and
stolen autos. He routinely lead his platoon in self initiated activity, assignments handled, and police reports
written. As a resident of the Ninth District in the Grove Neighborhood, Officer Breit has made several off
duty arrests, and come to the aide of his neighbors on numerous occasions. He is on duty 24/7, and is truly
proud to be a member of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Officer Breit is a 2000 graduate of Liberty Senior High in Liberty, Missouri. He attended college at the
University of Central Missouri and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice.
In addition, Officer Breit has served at The American Legion Missouri Boys State, located in Warrensburg,
Missouri, which is a leadership and democracy program for 12 years as a leadership counselor. He continues
to return to Warrensburg every year to volunteer as a counselor in the program.
Due to these examples and the exemplary police work by Officer Breit, he was chosen by his fellow officers
to receive the honor of Ninth District Police Officer of the Year for 2009.
