Answers

Are meals provided? How often?

Meals are prepared by The University of Central Missouri food service and served dining facilities on campus.  Students are provided three meals a day with a variety of menu items during the week.

Lunch is not provided the first Saturday of the program, however, hot dogs, chips, etc. will be available for purchase during Registration.

If your son has dietary restrictions, please contact the MBS Headquarters prior to the first day of the program.

What are the lodging arrangements?

Participants will stay in the university residence halls for the entire week in a single occupancy room. The room will join another room by a shared restroom. So there will be one suitemate.

Linens and a pillow are NOT provided (updated 5-24-2021 due to COVID-19). Bring sheets and blanket for a twin XL bed (twin XL or larger sheets will work) or sleeping bag. They should also bring a pillow and pillowcase.

We suggest they bring a couple of towels and washclothes because it is a long week and there are no laundry facilities available.

Can I come and visit?

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, visitors will not be allowed during the week. However, visitors are welcome to attend our Final Assembly and Closing Ceremonies at the Multipurpose Building at the University of Central Missouri beginning at 9:00 a.m. on the final Saturday of the session (June 19). Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Parents/Guardians and visitors are welcome to visit the MBS Store located in the Multipurpose Building. No pre-registration or check-in is needed. However, we will have COVID-19 restrictions in place during the assembly as required by the University of Central Missouri.

How do I send an email to my son during the program?

During the program, you will see a link on the home page that says "Send a Citizen a Message."  After you fill out this form with your message, it will be printed and reviewed by MBS Headquarters, and then delivered to your son's city.  Please note that he will not be able to respond to these messages electronically.
